With the Christmas holidays upon us, we’re itching to get our Christmas craft on! The problem? There’s just not enough time to finish all the projects we have listed on our absolutely must-do list. At least we have little helpers to assist us (not Santa’s elves who are a little quicker and tidier, but our little ones will do just fine 😉 )
As much as we love getting our creative juices flowing, the best part of Christmas crafts is spending time with the little ones, Christmas carols blaring in the background. Sure, there’s a mess like no other at the end of the day, there’s glitter in our hair, ears, and between our toes, but we wouldn;t change it for the world. Every Christmas reminds us just how quickly time goes, and just how important it is to cherish every single moment, mess included!!
There are so many beautiful and brilliant ideas out there, we thought we’d save you some time and put together a list of some of our favourites!
1.Christmas tree pasta macaroni
What we love about this craft, is you will definitely have all of the required items in your home, so there’s no shooting to the shops to grab what’s on the list! Macaroni pasta, paint (or spray paint), glue, white cardboard, and voila!
Not only fun and easy, we also love that this craft has some sneaky skill strengthening in it; pattern sequencing and fine motor skills.

2. Fluffy Santa Slime
‘I don’t like playing with slime’ – said no child ever! A gift that just keeps giving, slime is our absolute go-to! This slime recipe and craft idea has a Christmas twist on it, which the kids will absolutely love!

3.Lacing ornaments
Another craft that we love, love, love, because it requires almost no materials, plus it sneaks in some invaluable fine motor skills strengthening! What works really well, and to get the kids enthusiastic from the start, is to ask them what shape they would like to lace, for example a Christmas tree, stocking, bell, present…Having them included from the start will have them engaged all the way to the finish!

4.Christmas salt dough gift ornaments
We’re pretty sure you have your playdough and salt dough recipes waxed by now, but just in case you’ve lost the paper with it on, here’s a refresher! Can we also just say, this craft is not only fantastic for the little ones, but we’ve actually made some beautiful ornaments too! Perfect to add a little something extra to present wrapping for friends or family!
